The UNSW MedSoc Awards have been created to highlight and promote key qualities within the UNSW MedSoc community, including initiative, leadership and selflessness, recognising exceptional individuals who have dedicated themselves to the benefit of other students, their clinical school, and the wider community.
All students are asked to consider nominating an exceptional individual who has made an impact on their student life and/or education.
These prestigious awards will be voted on by a three-person panel consisting of a single student representative, ex-MedSoc member (intern) and Faculty representative. Recipients will be acknowledged via a certificate presented at UNSW MedBall, as well as being published in Idioglossia and on the MedSoc website.
It is hoped through the annual presentation of these awards, students will be encouraged to incorporate the key qualities embodied by these awards into their medical school career, and hopefully into their future practice.
Awards presented in 2012 include:
UNSW MedSoc Student Life Award
UNSW MedSoc Teacher of the Year Award
UNSW MedSoc Peer Teaching Award
UNSW MedSoc Best Special Interest Group Event
President’s Award
