About us:

The UNSW Rheumatology Society is a SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Medical Students Society at the University of New South Wales. We are a team of medical students who are aiming to promote and facilitate learning within the spectrum of rheumatological medicine for our peers.

Specifically, our aims include:

  • Increasing awareness of rheumatology as a specialty amongst UNSW Medicine students;
  • Improve upon musculoskeletal anatomy and OSCE/ICE clinical teaching for UNSW Medicine students, particularly promoting the importance of rheumatological examinations and varied clinical presentations of autoimmune and musculoskeletal disease;
  • Provide opportunities for UNSW Medical students to hear from senior specialists in both Rheumatology and Immunology at our various events throughout the year.

Our 2016 executive cabinet include:

President: Lucy Hanlon

Vice President: Joshua Song

Secretary: Hsui Yang Wong

Treasurer: Mike Wu

Sponsorships: Sarah McCredie

We are also supported by our lovely general executive members, social directors and phase representatives, who make our events a success!
