
Academic events in 2011 will aim to inspire you and expand your horizons! UNSW Medsoc organizes a number of academic events every year that allows students to pursue interests that fall outside the scope of the curriculum. UNSW academics this year is suitable for all years and includes an emergency skills night, career info nights, medicine in the army night and financial planning nights! 2011 is going to be a great year for academics – bigger and better, so be sure you don’t miss out!
Your academic coordinators for 2011 are Devinda Jayewardene and Vineet Gorolay.
Military Medicine Night: A night where speakers who have practiced medicine in a military context, whether it be in conflict or disaster relief settings, come and share their experiences with students.
O&G/Paediatrics Night: A night where clinicians who have worked in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics convey their experiences, insights and thoughts to students.
Emergency Medicine Night: A night where students can learn about the field of emergency medicine from clinicians experienced in that area.
Orthopaedics Night: A night where students can learn about the field of orthopaedics from clinicians experienced in that area.
Medicine Grand Rounds: A new event on the Medsoc calender, run in conjunction with the various Special Interest Groups, involving the presentation of unique patients, their histories and management by practicing clinicians from their respective fields, for students.
