The UNSW Rheumatology Society is a SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Medical Students Society at the University of New South Wales. We are a team of medical students who are aiming to promote and facilitate learning within the spectrum of rheumatological medicine for our peers.
Specifically, our aims include:
- Increasing awareness of rheumatology as a specialty amongst UNSW Medicine students
- Improve upon musculoskeletal anatomy and OSCE/ICE clinical teaching for UNSW Medicine students, particularly promoting the importance of rheumatological examinations and varied clinical presentations of autoimmune and musculoskeletal disease
- Provide opportunities for UNSW Medical students to hear from senior specialists in both Rheumatology and Immunology at our various events throughout the year
We are proudly supported by the Autoimmune Resource and Research Centre (ARRC), NSW, who are dedicated to providing education and support for individuals living with a variety of systemic autoimmune illnesses. They can be found at http://www.autoimmune.org.au/
