PMS: Port Medical Society
The PMS (Port Medical Society) is a student run club for the 100+ medical students located in Port Macquarie. We organise and facilitate numerous major events throughout the year which include, but are not limited to, O-week activities, river cruises, a commencement dinner, a charity ball and an end of year valedictory dinner. All of these events are open and welcoming to our students across all 6 years of UNSW Medicine.
If you’re someone who loves having something to do all the time, don’t worry we have also got you covered. Scattered amongst these major events of the year are beach games and activities, BBQs, Friday night catch ups and trivia nights.
Additional to the social side of things, the PMS committee advocates on behalf of the students. We frequently liaise with the Rural Clinical School (RCS) faculty and staff to ensure our student’s concerns are being heard. PMS often assist in organising exam preparation sessions, volunteering opportunities and keeping students up to date with all opportunities and events going on locally.
